Children's Book Week May 1-6, 2017

RML celebrates Children's Book Week

Children's Book Week, May 1st – 6th 2017, is the national celebration of books and reading for youth.

Established in 1919, it is the longest-running literacy initiative in the country. This year, Robey Memorial Library will observe the occasion with the One Week – One Book Reading Challenge.

Here’s how it works: Adults and children, read one book of your choice during the week, stop in the library and add your book to our reading board totals and receive a special “Bookworm Treat” and then on Friday, May 5th from 4-5:30pm stop in to enjoy ice cream served by the Allamakee County Dairy Princess.

Also throughout the week, materials will be available for patrons to make a unique bookmark to keep. Children’s Book Week is being generously sponsored by the Allamakee County Dairy Board. For more information contact us at 563-568-4424 or www.waukon.lib.ia.us.
