Author Event : Michael Osterholm

Robey Memorial Library will be hosting authors Michael Osterholm, Jackie Martin and illustrator Claudia McGhee on Monday, April 3 at 4pm for an Author Event.

Michael Osterholm, Waukon native, is currently a professor, infectious disease epidemiologist and director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota.

Osterholm, Jacqueline Martin, author of the Caldecott Medal winner Snowflake Bentley and Claudia McGehee, a nationally renowned illustrator, will do a brief reading from Creekfinding and take questions. Creekfinding is a children’s book about Osterholm’s efforts to restore one of the trout streams on his property in rural Dorchester recently published by the U of MN Press.

Osterholm will also read from Deadliest Enemy: Our War Against Killer Germs newly published by Little Brown and Company.

“Deadliest Enemy is a lucid and concise account of how the battle against deadly germs is in many ways the most important war of all. It deftly melds authoritative science with a gripping narrative to tell what is arguably the most critical story of our era.”--- Peter Bergen, CNN's National Security Analyst, is the author of United States of Jihad; Investigating America's Homegrown Terrorists
