Story Time & Stay and Play

Story Time

Tuesday Story Time is held Tuesdays from 10:30-11:00am in the Anne Lauerman Story Corner. Attendees enjoy stories, hands-on materials, and activities presented by library staff and visiting readers. Studies have shown that reading books out loud to a child helps develop their reading skills long before they are able to read thus giving them a head-start in school.

Stay and Play

Stay and Play is held the first Tuesday of the month from 11:00-11:30am and is an extension to the weekly Tuesday Story Time. Stay and Play provides a fun way for children to build social skills through creative play. Social play is an opportunity for young children to not only form relationships but is also a boost to later academic success. Parents and caregivers benefit from the social aspect of Stay and Play through an inter-change of ideas and a sense of community. This program began in January 2017 with the purchase of special toys through a generous donation of Ed and Chris Lauerman.
