As part of Live & Learn: enriching lives through monthly learning series, RML is offering Climbing Mount Everest with Jen Loeb on Thursday, August 25 at 5:30 pm in the lower level Community Room.
Jen Loeb was born and raised in Jesup, IA. She attended Wartburg College graduating with a biology degree. She currently lives in Marengo and works in Cedar Rapids.
Jen started mountain climbing in 2010 and has climbed mountains all over the world, including Everest on May 19, 2016. Jen is the first Iowa woman to climb Everest and recently became one of less than 25 women in the United States to complete the 7 Summits—accomplished when a person climbs the highest mountain on every continent. Jen has released Shots from the Heart—a book of photographs and journal excerpts from her travels both near and far. The book and select prints are available for purchase on her website Iowaclimberjen.com. She has been featured in the Cedar Rapids Gazette, the Des Moines Register, KWWL, KCRG, and NPR.
Join us at Robey Memorial Library to experience the climb of Mount Everest through Jen’s presentation of climbing preparation and equipment; photographs; and videos.
