Interlibrary Loan

Our library is connected to other libraries throughout the state. If you can't find an item in this library, ask library staff to help you get it from another library.

Interlibrary Loan.pngOur library buys the books and materials that we think are most wanted by our community. Because of limited resources and space we can’t purchase everything that is published, but we can usually borrow it from another library. This service is called interlibrary loan. Our library is part of a vast network of participating libraries that are willing to loan out materials to other libraries.

If we don’t have the book, CD, DVD, or video that you are looking for, please ask the staff to borrow it for you from another library.

  • There is $1.00 charge per book to help pay for postage and larger donations are gratefully accepted.
  • Patrons will be notified when the material is received by Robey Memorial Library.  Most of the items are delivered to our library in 4-7 days.  Patrons must pick up materials within three days of notification.
  • Loan periods vary but you are able to keep most items at least 2 weeks.  The staff will inform you of the loan period when you pick up the item.  If it is needed longer, the staff will attempt to renew the item from the donor library.

Our library uses SILO Interlibrary loan to borrow items from other Iowa libraries.
