As part of the longest-running national celebration of books for young people and the joy of reading, over 1,300 schools, libraries, and bookstores in all 50 states will celebrate Children’s Book Week from May 1 – 5, 2023 with the theme Read Books. Spark Change. Robey Memorial Library plans a week full of reading fun with the following activities:

One Week-One Book Reading Challenge - Monday, May 1 through Friday, May 5 – Read one book of your choice during the week, stop in the library and add your book to our totals, then stop in on Friday for ice cream w/ the Dairy Princess. All ages are encouraged to participate and attend.

17th Annual Pajama Party - Monday, May 1st 5:30-6:30pm – Enjoy DINOSAUR stories plus more read by Kirk Snitker and a fun activity. Be sure to wear your PJs!

Ice Cream w/ Dairy Royalty - Friday, May 5th 4:00-5:30pm – Participants of our fun week of activities are welcome to join us for an Ice Cream Party with the Dairy Princess. This program is sponsored in part by the Allamakee County Dairy Board.

Rock Painting - Friday, May 5th 4:00-5:30pm – Drop-in for a rock painting activity! Supplies provided by the library.
