RML invites readers to embark on a cozy literary adventure this winter with Reading Dragons and Friends. This fun and engaging program encourages reading over Winter Break while collecting and playing with dragon-themed cards.

From December 15 through January 10, pick up a reading log at the library or print one from the library’s website (see link below) to begin your reading journey. Participants earn collectible dragon cards for every 30 minutes they read. The cards feature four winter-themed dragon families—including eggs, babies, teens, and adults.  Readers who log 10 hours or more during Winter Break will also have the opportunity to earn dragon families they may have missed during the 2025 Summer Reading Program.

Originally developed by librarians Liz Strauss and Mallory Thompson at Dover Public Library (Ohio), Reading Dragons and Friends has inspired young readers nationwide by combining the excitement of mythical creatures with the joy of reading.
