Special activities planned for Children’s Book Week, Monday, November 3– Saturday, November 8, include:

  • Spin-The-Wheel for daily prizes (one spin per day)
  • Snuggle Story Time on Thursday, October 6 from 5:30-6:00pm (first Thursday monthly)
  • Teddy Bear Sleep Over on Friday, November 7 from 5:00-5:45pm. Children are invited to wear their pajamas and bring their favorite stuffed animal (or second favorite) to enjoy stories and an activity. Then tuck your stuffed animal in for a sleepover at the library. Children can stop in on Saturday between 10am – 4pm to pick up their stuffed animal and photos of the fun and mischief gotten into overnight.

Launched in 1919, Children’s Book Week commemorates its 106th anniversary in 2025. It is the longest-running national literacy initiative in the country, originating in the belief that children’s books and literacy are life-changers. The twice-annual celebration boasts of over 3,000 participating schools, libraries, and bookstores in all 50 states.
